One of my biggest inspirations in doing portraiture photography is my wife, Kenya. Even though we had been married over 10 years when I started shooting, we made a whole new connection through photography. It didn't start as an intended project, but it just kind of organically took form while I was learning and experimenting with light, and she was in front of my camera. Growing up, she experienced her own struggles with self-esteem; not always embracing the very features that make her the beauty that she is. “The Sum of Her Parts" is an ongoing series where I attempt to explore in detail the individual parts that make her up has a whole person. I've barely scratched the surface.
