Issue 5: RETURN
After six years, Late Fee Magazine returns.
For Issue 5, we invite Artists of Color to explore the theme RETURN.
What does it mean to return?
Return can mean many things. It can mean returning to self, to family, to community, to memory, to culture, to joy, to purpose, or to art itself. It can be a homecoming. A reconciliation. A rebirth. A reclaiming.
What are you returning to?
What are you returning from?
What parts of yourself have remained? What parts have changed? What have you rediscovered, reclaimed, or left behind?
We are interested in work that explores absence and reemergence, loss and restoration, departure and homecoming. We encourage artists to interpret the theme freely and through their own lived experiences.
As Late Fee Magazine begins its own return, we are excited to see how Artists of Color across disciplines engage with this theme.
Compensation
All artists selected for Issue 5 will receive a $150 honorarium.
Late Fee Magazine anticipates selecting approximately 10 artists for Issue 5. If additional funding becomes available, we hope to expand the issue and support additional contributors.
